Acknowledgment of Risk and Release of Liability
I recognize that climbing is a dangerous activity. Injuries incurred while using the climbing wall, the bouldering area, or the floor below the climbing wall include but are not limited to injuries resulting from the fall of other persons who may come in contact with me from any falls in which I come in contact with other persons, the artificial walls or the floor; injuries resulting from climbing on, or falling off, loose and/or damaged artificial holds, the artificial climbing surfaces and structures, nor the failure of any of the above. My physical limitations or failure to acknowledge personal skill levels all have the potential to result in an accident. Injuries can include, but are not limited to, sprains, broken bones and other fractures, and possibly death.
THE VENUE is providing facilities, equipment, educational training and supervision for those who voluntarily choose to participate in indoor rock climbing in the indoor recreational environment. For and in consideration of the opportunity to engage in this activity at THE VENUE Climbing Center, I release, acquit, and discharge forever on behalf of myself my heirs, assigns and personal representatives, THE VENUE, its’ agents, officers, employees, successors, volunteers, and representatives from any and all liability, claims, or causes of action that result from my participation.
In consideration of the privilege and opportunity to engage in this activity at this location, I agree to accept full responsibility for my own safety, abide by and help enforce the safety rules set forth and taught, and agree to help ensure the safety to my best ability and by my own safe actions.
Helmet Waiver
I acknowledge a helmet may help prevent head injuries. You are refusing this safety precaution against the advice of THE VENUE, and you hereby waive and release THE VENUE, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all liability associated with your voluntary refusal to wear a safety helmet.
Warning: The sport of indoor climbing is dangerous.
Read all posted signs and warnings. Adhere to the instruction and recommendations given by staff during a safety lesson, given when applicable by staff, and any time while climbing at THE VENUE.

Participants the age of 14 or under are also not eligible to receive a belay lesson or to serve as the role of belayer at THE VENUE Climbing Center.
Belayers will be given corrective instruction if they are not belaying correctly. The on-site supervisor will work with the belayer as needed, until correct technique is being used. If the belayer requires further skill advancement, a recommendation will be made to re-take the safety lesson.
Lead Climbing is a specialized type of climbing. Those wishing to lead climb must complete training at THE VENUE and request to lead climb to an on-site supervisor.
Bouldering is a specialized type of climbing. Bouldering will be permitted during select hours, only when additional safety padding and spotters are available and used. Bouldering will be permitted to a height of approximately 10-12 feet from the floor (head level). Marks on the wall will indicate bouldering height limitations. Bouldering is not permitted when other forms of climbing are occurring.
Any scrape or abrasion resulting in blood on holds, the wall, or equipment, must be made known to on-site staff immediately. Climbing and/or belaying while under the influence of alcohol and/or controlled substances is strictly prohibited. Anyone under such influence will be escorted from the facility.
THE VENUE Directors and on-site supervisors have the responsibility to immediately suspend privileges to the Climbing Center if behavioral situations warrant, including those not specifically noted. Refunds will not be provided to the participant whose behavior requires their removal from participation.
